Pastor Lewin | Evangelist Lewin
Pamela Rosemary Lewin was born in Bristol, England, on 23rd April 1959 to parents Florence Eulice Bailey and Rudolph Martin Stuart. Her home life was a mixture of love and strict guidance like most Caribbean homes. Her parents were hard working; trying to keep the roof over their children’s heads as well as making sure they were focused on education.
When Pamela left school, she went to college, where she studied on a two year secretarial course. Her first job was working as a secretary for the BBC in London. She worked her way up to PA, then chief executive and office manager in the health service. Pamela now works in performance management.
Pamela got married at the age of twenty-two to the man who would one day become the Pastor of Bethel United Church Luton, David Lewin. They both came to Luton in 1992 with their sons Nathan and Daniel, moving from their home in Banbury.
Evangelist Lewin is now the co-pastor of Bethel United Church of Jesus Christ (Apostolic) Luton – and area churches. She hopes that the area churches continue to grow, branching out of the four walls and into the community to draw more souls into Gods kingdom.
Evangelist Lewin has had to juggle being a wife, a mother to her sons and a spiritual mother to the church along with her work commitments. For Evangelist Lewin the prospect of helping lost souls that come through the church doors is what motivates her to continue:
“It is about seeking the Lord. One day somebody gave me the scripture in Jeremiah: ‘look not upon their faces’ and I realised, it’s not what you see, it’s not the faces you are looking at, it’s the Lord. So I now say, I look to the hills whence cometh my help because my help cometh from the Lord.” |
